We just wanted to let you know that for the last two weeks, our whole family has been intensely preparing for the official start of this January's Discipleship Training School. The rooms are cleaned, the classroom ready, the teachers lined up, and we officially have 16 students! They are from the U.S., Canada, China, Honduras, Panama, as well as from the Ngäbe and Wounaan people groups!
Some have been arriving today, and the rest arrive tomorrow. We start the DTS on Friday. We are so excited and honored to have the privilege of serving and working alongside these 16 students. They come from vastly different cultures, age groups, and family situations. We have a few in their 50's, 3 married couples, 2 of them with young children, not even counting the 6 of us staff and our combined 7 little tykes.
It is sure going to be a challenge, but we have never been more excited about what God will do through this team long term. Long term here in Panama working in our indigenous ministries as well as long term in their hearts and the places God will direct them to extend His kingdom in the years to come.
Please pray for us, the 6 staff, the 16 students, our 12 kids, and all the other YWAM Panama staff who are helping making this happen as we embark upon this adventure. It is such an honor for us to serve with 4 of our best friends who share our vision for the indigenous peoples. To God be the glory who orchestrated this team!
Love,
John, Kristina, Natalie, and Asher
